![]() ![]() So if you have a fast metabolism this is your place :)Īll in all I am definitely coming back. I hardly saw anyone shivering, except me. The reason I say I am alone is that every single other guest was wearing shorts or sleeveless tops etc., and did seem quite comfortable. To go from that to sweltering New York heat cannot possibly be healthy. Every time I walked out of our room I had to have on a sweater. I got sick from eating in the restaurant because the air blows directly down on diners. It is way way way too cold in this hotel. I actually think I am alone on this one judging by my observations. In fact, there is really only one negative for me - and it may not be a negative point for everyone. I cannot fault anything - I hope they like working there as much as I liked staying there. ![]() The people who are working for the guests' comfort are lovely - from first arrival to departure. ![]() I did not use the spa or the open gym but they were both very busy so I imagine it can't be terrible. I took a private next to another person and we ended up having a really nice chat afterward. the studio is excellent and has all equipment in it. I also took a private pilates lesson with Annie and it was a very very good lesson. Some standouts are: avocado toast (yes its had its day but when done correctly is great), the beauty bowl - fantastic - the fresh pressed juices are actually pressed freshly, very good - the halibut, the sea bream, the chicken (but its a large piece, dont get this if you arent really hungry), and the standout was the cauliflower flatbread. Its all clean eating too, so you never feel like even though you just got grilled chicken and veg, that it was cooked in so much butter and oil that you just feel bloated anyway. I am a bath person so I did miss this but I found I still got a great cleaning experience, especially with all the fantastic Grown Alchemist products - heaven.īut back to the FoOd. In fact, it was unfortunately too firm, so I ended up putting a bath towel over the sofa pillow and sleeping like this.Īlso, at this room level, there are no tubs in the bathing area - only a really good shower. On day 3 we did get a firm non-feather pillow but this is not the same. The only niggle is that I usually really enjoy a neck supportive pillow, which did not seem to be on offer at Equinox. The rooms are soothing decor-wise, and the sofa in our room was comfy enough to literally sit there and work all day. My husband and I both slept like rocks, we ate like kings (we only ate at the in-house restaurant, Electric Lemon), and felt able to more quickly get over our jet lag than usual. I will say this: two things I never knew I needed in New York and now I cannot imagine a stay without them! It makes a massive difference: this is the first stay away from home in decades where I actually felt "well". This hotel makes a big deal about the soundproofing of their rooms, and the total blackout shades that help guests fall asleep and stay asleep. We stayed in a Premier King, which I can recommend as this room is very spacious and has (ours did) views of the Hudson river. I just got home from a week long stay at the Equinox in Chelsea. ![]()
